About Larada Horner-Miller

I am a retired middle school teacher who has published four books and three cookbooks since 2013. I live in Tijeras, NM, nestled in the east mountains above Albuquerque. We live at 7400 feet, so we have the pleasure of the desert climate when we are in Albuquerque shopping and dancing, then we enjoy the beautiful trees and snow when it falls at home.

I co-manage with my brother a family ranch in southeastern Colorado and northeastern New Mexico. I enjoy visiting there monthly and getting away from the rush and noise of people everywhere.

My husband, Lin, and I enjoy traveling and dancing. We spent three weeks in England and Ireland in the summer of 2017–a trip of a life time for sure.

I have an elderly cat, Jesse, who has feline diabetes which requires insulin shots twice a day–his shots regulate my days.

My current writing project fell into my lap. I’m writing the authorized biography of Marshall Flippo, the world famous square dance caller. Release date is projected to be November 2019, so I’m working like crazy to get it out.

Writing feeds my soul!
