The tumbleweed metaphor works well in describing the process of this book – it tumbled all over the place and then rested in a corner somewhere for years before it was blown to a new resting place.
I saw my high school journalism Margie Miller, in the 80’s and she asked me, “will you give me a copy of your first book?”
I was shocked! I never entertained that thought, but the seed was planted.
I also remember a comment my Uncle Tanky made after he read an essay I wrote for a high school. I was registered to go to Cosmetology school that fall, and Uncle Tanky commented you could so much more with your writing skills.
So this tumbleweed went this direction and that for many years.
