I am veering off Lin and my trip to Ireland and England for one week and sharing a poem I wrote for my Mom for Christmas in 2003. Enjoy and hug your mother real close today! My Mom has been gone for five years and this Mother’s Day has been one of the hardest! This poem celebrates the place she had in my life.
Have you ever written a poem or story about your Mom? Share it here! I would love to read it.

I am a retired teacher. I taught middle school for 20 years and then worked at the district level for 7 years.
I love to write, read, dance and travel. Computers are also a passion of mine.
My brother and I inherited our family ranch five years ago, so I am now a ranch manager!
My new writing project is a biography of Marshall Flippo, a 91-year-old world renowned square dance caller. Flippo recently passed away. I have over 40 hours of recorded interviews with him that will be the basis of his biography
I am also working on a women's fiction and a poetry collection. Retirement is great!
